In the very beginning, it says that the President was coming to Fresta, and I wonder which President was the President at that time because it never says what year it is in the book, so you dont know which President was President at the time.
When I was reading, my inner voice was wuondering if the posters said not to keep endangered animals as pets or to kill them, what it said at the end of chapter 14.
Good thinking. I was wondering that too. What do you think will happen to Borden and Sally? My inner voice says that they would find a way to let Leon let go of Bardy.
I agree because bardy needs to go back into the wild soon now that he knows how to fly and live well. I think they might come up with a plan to free bardy.
My sticky note said "I think that Bardy can't catch food because he can't fly" and swoop down to catch the fish in the water because he can't fly on top of the water.
My inner voice was noticing Borden did not want bardy around so much because he was afraid that Leon might kill bardy if he Knows that he is a spotted owl.
My inner voice was saying that it was very cool that Paul James was going to talk to the Vice President of the United States about what was happining to the endangered speciesin there area.
My inner voice says that Mr.Paul James really wants to keep the nature safe but Mr.Paul James might be lieng to them so I don't now if he is lieing or telling the truth. Also my inner voice says that Mr.Paul James really want's the 2 kid's to be on his side and not there's.
When I was reading my thought was, I wonder if Leon is going to find out that Bardy has spots without Borden telling him and get so mad that he will wring \ cut his neck of.
my inner voice said to me that how did Leon know Bardy had spots all this time because in the text it said that Leon admitted he knew that Bardy had spots all this time.
my inner voice said i wonder why the manager of the news paper, and the person who made the $200,000 and prison, why would they give $200,000 and a year in prison? Why not just give them the money or the year in prison?
When I was reading my inner voice was wondering about the insert that said "For an individual or corporation killing or possessing a threatend or endangered species ,the penalty is $20,000 fine and up to one year in prison.".I was also wondering if Leon was going to pay the fine and/or go to prison.
My inner voice is saying why did Leon and Sally in ch. 14 say that Paul James didn't have to come over but in ch. 15 Paul James did come over. That was really confusing to me.
When I was reading my inner voice said , l wonder why tree cutters do NOT like owls that do not do anything to them? I know they would not like the owl that is making them lose there job but they should still care for them so something does not happen to them.It will make you feel bad when something happens to them because you helped make the owl get hurt or even something else bad!
My inner voice said I think Paul James is a nice person. I think that because in the text it said you can ask him some thing and he will not ask why you are asking.That is what my inner voice said.
My inner voice says that Sally an Borden have deep feelings in Bardy. They had to solve the problem about Bardy's spots. My inner voice also says that they are trying to save Bardy's life, he knows that Leon is going to kill Bardy when he finds out. So, the only way to save Bardy is to let Bardy go before Leon finds out. That's why Borden was trying to convince Leon to let go of Bardy. Otherwise, if Leon does kill Bardy, he will be arrested with a fine too. Borden and Sally are not only trying to save Bardy, but also Leon. They need to let go of Bardy so that Leon won't kill him and their whole family will have to pay a fine, and worse, Leon will be arrested. But I wonder, does Leon still hate spotted owls? Borden isn't sure. In the text it said, " he probably doesn't."
when I was reading I saw a box with some words in it on page 108 chapter 14 all in capitals and it said"FOR AN INDIVIDUAL OR CORPORATION KILLING OR POSSESSING A THREATENED OR ENDANGERED SPECIES,THE PENALTY IS A $200,000 FINE AND UP TO ONE YEAR IN PRISON.That is the end of all of the writing and when I was done reading my inner voice was saying I have never ever heard of some of the words I just read and I did not get any of that.Another thing that my inner voice was saying go back to that sentence on page 110 chapter 15 because I do not get the sentence it said "I wouldn't do that if I were you pop.Borden's voice was sharp with urgency.What does urgency mean I have never heard of that word.
My inner voice was wondering if people would listen to this sign :PEOPLE NOT OWLS;SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SPOTTED OWL-FROM A ROPE ; OLD GROWTH CANNOT BE REPLACED?
Wait just a minute if Leon won't let Bardy go sooner or later he'l find out Bardy is a spotted owl and maybe wring Bardy's neck so hopefully sooner or later Leon will let Bardy go.
First i wonder why the president came to Paul James town.Maybe someone did not follow the law.Or maybe a different president got hurt.That is what i think.
